About Cory
Cory is a practicing attorney who has loved singing from an early age. Dubbed by his friends “the voice of an angel”, he has had a wide variety of musical influences. Throughout childhood, Cory was influenced by music in the “Disney Renaissance” movies: The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, to name a few. He also loved the songs from musicals such as The Sound of Music and Phantom of the Opera. Later on, his musical style was further influenced by Christian music artists such as Avalon, Selah, Point of Grace, and Phil Wickham.
It was not until college that Cory began singing in public. At the University of Michigan, he decided on a whim to audition for Good News Christian A Cappella. He enjoyed singing with the group all four years of undergrad, developing confidence, skill, and friendships along the way. Cory currently helps lead worship on Sunday mornings at Woodside Bible Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
The songs Cory chose for his debut album Testify reveal many different facets of God’s character. Cory is passionate about declaring to the world who he believes God to be, as revealed through His Word, the Bible.
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion”, says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him”. Lamentations 3:21-24
